Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences (ISAS, Czech Republic)

The Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences is a leading centre for sociological research and training in the Czech Republic. The scholarship at the Institute covers various fields from sociology and economics, to political science, demography, and gender studies, and ranges from latest statistical models to cutting-edge qualitative research. The Institute participates in multi-national and international research programmes.

Established in 2001 as a team and as an independent research department in 2015, the Centre for Gender & Science is the only specialized research department in the country focusing on gender sociology of science, feminist science and technology studies, and promoting gender equality in research. In addition to research, studies and analyses, the Centre provides consultation services to state and public administration and support to research and higher education institutions implementing institutional change for gender equality. We have a long history of European cooperation through Framework Programme projects (from CEC-WYS & KNOWING, TRIGGER to GENDERACTION, GE ACADEMY. Gender-SMART). Our members serve on expert groups and advisory bodies in the Czech Republic and at the EU level.

In CASPER, ISAS will contribute to stakeholder consultations and review of the assessment surveys. We will host two co-creation workshops in the Czech Republic and contribute to the development of the four scenarios.
